Couple Missing Amid Stokvel Fund Concerns
Lebohang Mokatedi, 29, and his 19-year-old girlfriend, Nthabiseng Mokonyana, both from Botshabelo in the Free State, have been missing since Thursday, December 12, 2024.
The couple was last seen by their families traveling in a gold Nissan Micra with the registration FYN 754 FS. Despite their families' attempts to reach them, there has been no contact, prompting concerns about their whereabouts.
Lebohang is known for managing a society and stokvel, where members contribute funds throughout the year in exchange for a share of the money plus interest and groceries in December. However, members are now unable to access their expected payouts, raising suspicions that Lebohang may have fled with their funds. This has caused growing anxiety in the community.
The Botshabelo police are seeking assistance in locating the couple.
