Salary: R15,000 – R20,000 (Market-related and dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate or as soon as possible

About the Role

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records, ensuring financial integrity, and supporting the business's operational and financial goals.

Job Purpose:
To manage the company’s bookkeeping functions efficiently and accurately on a day-to-day basis.


Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education:

    • Grade 12 with strong mathematical subjects.
    • Tertiary certifications in Bookkeeping or Financial Management (advantageous).
  • Experience & Skills:

    • Experience in the manufacturing industry (advantageous).
    • Proficiency in Sage Pastel Manufacturing (mandatory).
    • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Personal Attributes:

    • Professional and presentable appearance.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
    • Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Responsible, reliable, and committed.
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Valid driver’s license and own transport.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to handle a range of bookkeeping tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Managing invoicing for 20-30 clients.
  • Reconciling Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable with remittances, statements, and subsystems.
  • Following up on outstanding payments.
  • Creating and dispatching invoices.
  • Preparing and filing VAT reports and EMP201 submissions.
  • Capturing daily financial transactions.
  • Transitioning into the maintenance of stock records.
  • Recording and reconciling import transactions.
  • Conducting key supplier reconciliations and analyses.
  • Matching customer payments to sales invoices.
  • Performing monthly bank reconciliations.
